US weekly crude steel output drops
According to statistics released by the American Iron and
Steel Institute (AISI), the US produced 1.806 million short tons of
crude steel in the week ended on January 26th, falling by 1% from a week
earlier and decreasing by 5.8% in comparison of 1.918 million short
tons in the same period of a year ago.(seamless steel pipe)
In the given period of time, the capacity utilization rate of the US
steelmaking facilities was at 75.4 %, lower than 76.1% in a week ago.
